Dancing on the wind...

Hi! We are WindDance and we'd like to welcome you to our website. WindDance is a troupe of young people from Rose Creek Village- an intentional community in West Tennessee. We have grown up together under the nurturing influence of village life, in what can best be described as a big family. The life our parents tenaciously sought after and have discovered, is a shared life, sustained and directed by God, the Maker of all that is good and true. At this point there are about 285 of us living in homes on about 100 acres of land.

We strive daily to find out how to more completely love each other and obey the commands of Christ, and how to share our love with the community and the world.

One of the ways we love to share our life is through dance. A few lessons from some very wonderful people, and lots of time together enjoying dance have produced a unique style we like to call, "Celtic Freestyle". We have blended traditional Irish dance with elements of ballet and jazz, and are seeking to incorporate international dances in the future. We hope our dance portrays camaraderie, friendship, purity, and the sheer and unhindered passion for life- and of course- dancing.

We have been privileged to have performed at such festivals as The North Texas Irish Festival in Dallas, Texas; the Jackson Mississippi CelticFest; and the Pangaea World Music Festival in historic Jonesborough, Tennessee; as well as many other venues, including schools and local fundraisers.

If you'd like to see WindDance in motion, here is a promotional video in Windows Media format. You'll need either Windows Media Player or a compatable video player to view this.

We have a DVD out that we call, WindDance: Dancing on the Wind. This is a 30 minute movie that tells our story, gives a taste of our life together, and gives you the opportunity to get to know us a little better. We have included some of our original dances in their entirety. We think you will really enjoy it. To order your copy, visit our online store.
